Gavin's 1st Birthday

Tyler had a busy day on Saturday. We went up to Allen for Gavin's 1st Birthday and on the way up there we had to go eat some YUMMY cuban food and then we went to the outlet mall. I was really good at the outlet mall, I only bought one thing for Tyler and it only cost $4. I think Tyler had a fun time at Gavin's birthday. He made it until around 7pm and then we had to go. He hadn't had a nap since 9:30am. By 7pm he was kept laying his head on the floor wanting to go to sleep. Even though he was so tired, he never got fussy. I was so proud of my little guy. He is just my favorite thing in the whole world.

Here are some cute pictures of Tyler with his friends.

This is the birthday boy, Gavin. Erin and Steven's little guy.

Here are some pictures of Tyler and Gavin playing.

Here is Miss Aubrey, Rodney and Dana's daughter.

Here is a picture of Tyler climbing on top of Gavin's present.

This is the dynamics of two little boys that want to play with the same toy.

Of course I had to end this post with a cute picture of Tyler.

9 Month Check Up

Tyler had his 9 month check up today. He is 19 lbs 3 oz (25-50th%) and 29 in (90th%). His weight is a little low but he has been following the same trend since birth, so there are no worries. Overall he is doing great. I was a little worried because he isn't saying any consonant sounds (baba, dada, mama, etc) but my pediatrician told me not to worry about it until he is 12 months. If at 12 months he still isn't saying any then he will need to go to a speech therapist. Tyler is so advanced in so many ways that I just have really high expecations for him. I guess he doesn't need to excel in every area of development:) I also got some samples of Nucort to help clear up some of the red spots on his legs, hopefully this will do the trick.

The pediatrician also wants me to stop Tyler's 5 am feeding. He is pretty attached to the feeding and so am I. This feeding gives me a chance to see my Little Guy before I head off to work for the day. We are going to start this tomorrow and see how it goes.

Photoshop

I've been learning how to use Photoshop to add some really cool effects to some of Tyler's pictures. I never realized that you use it to do so many things to pictures. Here are a couple that I worked on today.

I also learned how to make a picture black and white and then add color back into it. Here is one the I did the other night.

Now I just have to convince my wonderful husband to get me a SLR camera, so I can learn how to take better pictures.

Happy 9 Month Birthday Tyler

My baby boy is 9 months old today. I always thought everyone was crazy when they would say kids go from being born to driving in like a day. Now I understand why. I can't believe how fast time is flying. Tyler will be a 1 year old in 3 months:( My baby is growing into such a beautiful little boy. Every day he is starting to look more and more like his Daddy.

Some of things that Tyler has accomplished this month are:

1. Climbing- he learned this at daycare, they have big blocks that he can climb all over. Now he tries to climb everything at home, from the stairs to the couch to mommy and daddy.

2. He is doing excellent on him move to people food. He loves everything that I give him. Hopefully he doesn't end up being a picky eater like his mommy and daddy.

3. He has gotten really good at the pincer grasp. In the last couple of weeks, he has really gotten good at feeding himself. He amazes me every time I watch him.

4. He takes baths like a big boy now. He loves to play in the bath tub. His favorite toys are a plastic cup and the top to my shaving cream. Go figure all kinds of cute bath toys and those are what he chooses to play with.

5. He has started to dance. This one is really cute. His Great Grandma bought him a toy that he can stand up and play with. It plays lots of music and Tyler stands there bounces his little butt around.
6. He is cruising all over the place. No sign of wanting to let go and walk yet but he knows how to get everywhere by holding onto something.
7. He is trying to stand on his own. He can do it for a couple of seconds but then he falls.

Tyler & Sammy Playing

Tyler has figured out a new way to torture Sammy. He loves to take his toys away from him. Of course this game is way more fun for Tyler than it is for Sammy. But part of me thinks that Sammy likes the attention.

So this is what....

A 103.2 fever looks like.

Tyler spiked a fever on Sunday afternoon. He had a 103.2 fever all the way through Monday. I ended up working from home on Monday and Troy stayed home with him on Tuesday. His fever turned into a really runny nose and a cough. We thought he was getting better until Friday.

Tyler was nice enough to give me his cold, so I stayed home on Friday to try and get myself better. Tyler spiked another fever at daycare so I had to go pick him up at 9:30am. So much for my day of relaxing. I took him to the doctor that afternoon since he wasn't getting better. He ended up have a cold and an ear infection. His first ear infection. He was put on antiboitics and is all better now:)

Pickles

We went to Jason's Deli for dinner on Thursday and they gave me a pickle. I decided to let Tyler have a taste. Sorry the video is not in the right direction. That is how it took on Troy's cell phone. I tried to flip it but I couldn't figure out how. Either way its still cute.

Little Monkey

Over the weekend Tyler has gotten really good at climbing. He learned how to climb the stairs a couple days ago and now he does it all the time. Yesterday I was able to get some pictures of him climbing the stairs.

After Tyler mastered the stairs he decided he wanted to climb onto the coffee table. I was laying on the floor playing with him and he crawled up me onto the couch and then onto the coffee table. Daddy stood behind him while I got a picture to make sure he didn't fall.

And this is just a cute picture that I got of Tyler while he was climbing all over the furniture.

Baby Blues

I love these blue eyes so much. I never imagined that I would have a blue eyed baby. Daddy has brown eyes and Mommy has green eyes. For some reason God blessed us with these beautiful blue eyes. The pediatrician told us that they would probably stay blue but they still might turn green. She said they definitely won't turn brown, she said if they were going to do that they would have turned by six months.

Future Football Star

According to Daddy, Tyler is destined to be a football star. He is definitely built for it. My little man has the strongest legs of any baby I know. Maybe Daddy will get his little football star.... but maybe not, only time will tell. Either way Tyler will always be a star in our minds.

Happy 4th of July

Tyler wants to say Happy 4th of July to everyone.

Tyler and Sammy

This picture shows you how great Sammy really is with Tyler. Sammy will let Tyler do anything to him and he doesn't care. Tyler really pushes the limits with Sammy. Tyler's new thing is that he likes to try and bite Sammy. Yeah I know kind of hairy and gross but what can I do. Tyler thinks everything belongs in his mouth, even the dog.

New Pacifier

Since I have been limiting Tyler's pacifier time. He has found a new way to satisfy his urge to suck.

Its a little rubber ducky that his Grandma Henderson sent him.

Big Boy Bath

Tyler has finally out grown his little raft that he used to lay on to get his bath. He loves taking a bath like a big boy. Bath time went from lasting about 5 min to around 20 or 30 because he wants to play so much. Here are some naked baby pictures of him enjoying his bath.

I love this little but!!

My Other Two Kids

Here is a cute picture of my other two kids, Sammy (the blonde one) and Bailey (the black one). Sammy and Tyler are becoming really good friends. Sammy is great around Tyler, he lets Tyler lean on him, pull his hair, anything. Sammy is such a good boy. Bailey on the other had prefers it if Tyler leaves her alone. Every once in a while she will go sit next to Tyler but that doesn't happen very often. Bailey would be in heaven if she could just curl up under the blanket in your lap all day.

Naked Boy

Tyler has the cutest naked body ever. I love his little butt. I know he will hate me in the future for having these pictures. Oh well its the mother's right to have all kinds of black mail pictures, isn't it:)

The Aquarium

We went to the Dallas Aquarium on Saturday. This was Tyler's first visit to the aquarium. His favorite thing to do was hold on to all the posts while we walked around. Every once in a while catch him watching some of the fish swim around.

Mommy, Daddy and Tyler in front of the fish tank.

Tyler pulling Daddy's hair while Daddy was nice enough to give him a ride.

My boy doing what he does best... Acting cute:)

Grandma's Here

Your Grandma Sandy came to visit you for a couple of days. I don't know who was more excited Gamma Sandy or Tyler. Tyler was super excited because he got to skip school while she was here but Gamma Sandy was super excited because she got to stay home with you all day:) I think she had a lot of fun staying home and playing with you all day. Here are some cute pictures that she took of you while she was baby sitting you.

I Love Ice Cream

Tyler got to enjoy his favorite treat on Sunday. I tried to share my ice cream cone with him but apparently he thought it was only his. He would get mad everytime I took a bite of HIS ice cream:) Instead of just taking a little bite everytime, he tried to put the whole thing in his mouth. Here is a cute picture of him trying to eat the whole ice cream cone.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day Daddy!!

Today was Troy's first father's day!!! We went out fishing for a little while and then went to lunch and this new burger joint. Troy even caught a fish this time, it wasn't big but it was a fish!! Here are a couple of pictures that I took of Tyler while Troy was fishing.

Tyler's New Car Seat

I finally decided it was time to move Tyler up to his convertible car seat. A convertible car seat is one that can either be rear facing or forward facing. I love this seat it is a lot softer and more padded than his infant seat. Tyler seems to like it more too. He still doesn't like getting in the car seat, he hates anything that restrains him. Once Tyler is in the car seat he seems to like it more. This seat sits higher in this car seat than he did in the infant seat, so he can see out of the windows now. Here are a couple of pictures of Tyler enjoying his new car seat. As you can see he loves to sleep in it.

He's 8 Months Old!!

I can't believe how fast my baby is growing up. It seems like I was just pregnant yesterday. Tyler is turning into such a cute little man. His personality is coming through more and more every day and unfortunately for us, I think he is going to have his Momma's temperament. Boy does he know how to get his way when he wants something. Here are some of the things that Tyler is now doing:

1. He is crawling like a champ. He knows how to get anywhere he wants to get. His favorite place to play is under the kitchen table. He also follows us around the house now.

2. He is starting to stand on his own. He can do it for a couple of seconds.

3. We have started to introduce more table foods. He is going to go straight from pureed fruits and veggies to table food. I am not going to puree "dinners" for him. He seems to be doing really good with the transition. The only thing he hasn't liked so far is french toast (minus the syrup).

4. He has 5 teeth, 3 on top and 2 on the bottom.

5. He is sort of cruising. I think he knows its faster if he crawls, so he doesn't really care to do this right now.

6. He is learning the word "no". Whenever I say it to him he stops and looks at me, usually laughs and continues to do what he was doing. This is one of the reasons I say he is going to have his Momma's temperament:)

7. He has moved up to his new daycare class, young toddlers, and he is doing really well. The first week was a little rough but now he hardly ever cries at school.

8. He has started to put himself to sleep for his naps. I love this but I do miss rocking my sweet little boy to sleep. Since he has learned to put himself to sleep for naps, he now naps for 1-2 hours twice a day. I love this. I can actually get stuff done on the weekends.

9. He has moved up to his convertible car seat. I think he definitely prefers this seat to the other one. He can now see out the windows.

BENEFITS : While no health or dental insurance, no pension, no tuition reimbursement, no paid holidays and no stock options are offered; this job supplies limitless opportunities for personal growth, unconditional love, and free hugs and kisses for life if you play your cards right.

* AND A FOOTNOTE 'THERE IS NO RETIREMENT -- EVER!!!

Apparently I inherited this job about 8 months ago. But its the BEST one I have had so far:)

My Boy Has A Reputation

Apparently, Tyler is already known for his love of food in his new daycare class. When Troy dropped Tyler off on Tuesday one of the teachers told him that she was feeding one of the other kids and Tyler came and stood up next to the kid that was being fed. He stood there with his mouth open the whole time, just waiting for his bite:) She also said that Tyler LOVES whatever I am making him. It is usually fruit (either apples or pears) and oatmeal. I wonder where Tyler got his love of food from...... maybe his Daddy!!
