Opening Day

Today Tyler attended his very first Texas Rangers game and his very first Opening Day. Troy and I have been going to Opening Day for years now with some friends, we always have a great time. Last year Tyler was still in daycare, so we could leave him there. Not this year though. We were VERY worried about how Tyler would handle everything. The game started at 1pm and nap time is around 2pm, so this meant he would have to skip his nap. Also, Tyler hates to be confined to small places and he would need to be confined to our laps. I figured worse case there there several laps for him to sit on or I could take him in the concession area when the game started and let him run around.

I am very happy to report that Tyler did AWESOME at the game. He was a perfect little boy. We were so proud of him. Everyone around us commented on how wonderfully behaved he was. It made us so proud. We met up with our friends to do a little tailgating and then went into the game. Tyler made it all the way to the 8th Inning before he needed to go, he was so tired. Even then he didn't get to fussy we just decided to leave and beat the traffic.

Here are some pictures from our adventure today.

Here are a couple of Tyler tailgating.

Tyler and Daddy before the game

Enjoying some french fries

There ended up being an extra seat, so Tyler had his own seat. This worked out great because it gave him a place to play. Here is the three of us. Not the greatest photo but it will work.

Daddy had to buy Tyler a hat because he looked so stinkin cute in it. We had a hard time keeping it on at first but now he loves the hat.

Playing with peanut shells on the ground. I know Mom of Year Award here.

Some random game photos.

He fell asleep after being in the car for 2 minutes. My little guy was exhausted.

  3. That looks like so much fun! I used to watch their spring training games, since I lived literally right next to the training stadium within walking distance.

Looks like he was a very good boy for you. You might have a baseball fan on your hands!!
