Happy Halloween

Its Halloween and its time for Spiderman to terrorize the neighborhood. Tyler loves his spider man costume. I was so excited for Halloween this year. It was the first year that we were going to try trick or treating with Tyler. I just gave birth 3 days ago but that wasn't going to stop me from taking the little man out. Plus I feel great, my recovery this time was so much easier.

Tyler loved trick or treating. The first house we went to he ran inside when they answered the door he ran inside, like he was staying to visit. It was so cute. Luckily they were our next door neighbors and they thought it was kind of funny. He quickly got the hang of asking for and taking candy from everyone.

Ali's 1st Bath

Tonight is Ali's first night home and its time for her first bath. I am really funny about starting a routine early. I think the earlier the better. So its bath time, then food and then bedtime. I did the same thing with Tyler and he was a great night sleeper, so I am hoping this will help her be the same.

Here are some pictures of her 1st bath

Ali's Going Home!

Today Ali and I are getting released from the hospital. I am anxious to get into a normal routine but I am also very sad to be leaving the nursery at the hospital. I know my sleep is coming to an end:( We could have been released yesterday but Ali decided to wait until 9pm to have her first poop. They wouldn't release us until she did that.

Here are some pictures of Ali in her going home outfit.

One Day Old

Today is my first day with baby girl! So far she is a great sleeper, that's all she does. They brought her to me every 3 hours to eat last night and then she went back to the nursery. Mommy needs rest too. I feel great for just giving birth yesterday. I was up taking a shower first thing in the morning.

Here are some pictures from Ali's first day.

Introducting Miss Ali Paige

On Wednesday I had my weekly doctors appt. I was still 2 cm and about 70% effaced, except this time baby dropped to position -1. The doctor went ahead and stripped my membranes. Its where the doctor runs their fingers between the cervix and the sac. Its a way to naturally induce labor. I imediatly started to have some really good cramping. I went home and walked a bunch. Later that night around 10pm. I started to have contractions that were about 3-4 min apart. I tried to sleep and that didn't happen. I got up around 1:30am and timed them on the computer, they were about 2-3 min apart. About an hour later I went back to bed because they slowed down. I woke up at 5:30am and they were back. I decided to the head to the hospital around 6:30am. Troy stayed home to take care of Tyler. When I got to the hospital they set me up in a room and around 7:30am they checked me, I was 3 cm. They told me to go walk for an hour and they would check me again.

Around 8:30am my doctor came in. He thought for sure I was going home because the contraction monitor wasn't picking up most of my contractions. When he checked me I was between 4-5cm!! I was admitted! I called Troy and told him to head to the hospital and then called my Mom. She was booking a last minute ticket out here to take care of Tyler. I was so excited that I would be meeting my baby girl today:) I was even more excited that things were progressing so smoothly on their own.

Around 9:30 my doctor came back and I was up to 6 cm. He decided to go ahead and order the Epi and then break my water. He was afraid to break my water first, thinking I might go too fast. Troy and Tyler finally got up there around 10am. We just hung around until Dana got finished with her doctor's appt, she was taking Tyler home with her. Around 10:30 I got the Epi, this one hurt way more than the first time. The doctor came back and broke my water.

Not long after I got the Epi my contractions stopped and I started to get really nauseous. My blood pressure started to drop really low, they said this was causing my to really nauseous. The same thing happened with Tyler. Since I couldn't eat anything to make me feel better they gave me more drugs to fight the sickness in my tummy.

Around 2pm, I was still at 6cm with no contractions. They decided to start me on some pitocin to get them started again. Around 4:30 or 5pm, my Mom arrived at the hospital. About 20 min later I was 10 cm!!! Time to push. My Mom left to go pick up Tyler from Dana while we had the baby. I started pushing at 5:30 and Miss Ali Paige arrived at 5:55pm. I couldn't believe it 30 min of pushing and only 6 or 7 pushes. This labor was so much easier than my labor with Tyler.

Ali arrived in the world weighing 8 lbs 5 oz and was 19 3/4 inches long. She was huge for being 2 weeks early. Ali look great and I got to nurse her almost immediately. While we waited for my Mom and Tyler to return, Troy and I got a chance to bond with her a little bit. She was so precious and she had the fattest face ever.

Tyler is 2!!!

My baby boy is 2 today!!! Happy Birthday little man:) He is such a wonderful little boy and his daddy and I couldn't be more proud of him. He is a talking machine, putting 3-4 words together and repeating everything we say. He knows his alphabet, shapes and colors. He is such a little smarty pants:)

On a side note, it doesn't look like Daddy is getting his birthday with. No baby today. Troy thought it would have been really cool to have both his kids born on his birthday. Baby girl has other ideas:)

Tyler loves getting mail these days. Its almost his birthday and he thinks every box that comes in the mail is for him. This one happened to really be for him. He had so much fun opening it and then insisted on playing with the toys right away.

Nakee Time

Tyler has a new obsession with being nakee (that's what he calls it). This evening he insisted that I take his clothes off. Then he decided that he was going to try to put his shirt on himself. Only he tried to put it on like it was a pair of shorts, so it didn't work out to well for him.

Pumpkin Patch

I decided to be brave and take Tyler to the Pumpkin Patch all by myself. That was a HUGE mistake. Tyler absolutely loved the pumpkin patch but I am way to fat to be chasing him around with hundreds of other kids around. After 20 min I was done. Tyler was so upset, he could have stayed all day. I cheered him up by taking him to meet Daddy for lunch. Tyler loves seeing his Daddy for lunch.

Here are some pictures from out visit to the Pumpkin Patch.

I love the look on his face in this one

Little Girl's Room

The Little Girl's room is pretty much done, FINALLY!! A big thanks to my Grandpa for painting it for her. Without him I don't think it would have ever been completed. It turned out super cute and girly. The yellow on the walls is actually a little brighter in person.

Big Boy Room

Here is Tyler's new big boy room. He loves sleeping in his new bed. I think he was defintely ready to get out of the crib. He wakes up so much happier now.

Balloons

Tyler loves the balloons that I got him for his part. One of them has Elmo singing Happy Birthday. He figured out if he shakes them real hard Elmo will start singing.
