My BIG Boy!!

Tyler had is 6 month check up today. The doctor said he looks perfect and he is developing wonderfully. He weighed 16 lbs 10 oz (60th percentile) and was 27 1/4 inches (90th percentile). He got his 3 shots and he took them like a champ. Notice the cute little band aids on his legs:) I asked the doctor about him being allergic to the store bought baby food and she said it is possible because it has preservatives in it or he could be allergic to something in the plastic container. So it looks like I will be continuing to make his food. I also asked her about the red spots on the back of his knees and it is eczema, so I have prescription for a steroid cream that I need to put on him.

While we were waiting for the doctor to come in, I had Tyler sitting on the table next to his car seat and next thing I know he is pulling himself up to a standing position. I couldn't believe what I saw. Babies aren't supposed to start doing this until around 8 months. In this past week Tyler has developed so much. He got his first tooth, is crawling, can go from the tummy to a sitting position and now he can pull himself up to a standing position. I am so proud of my little guy!!

The Mysterious Tongue

Tyler learned how to smack his lips and stick out his tongue, and its the cutest thing ever. He has been doing it all day. It is the cutest when he is feeding, he unlatches, looks at me and smacks his lips.
I was able to catch Tyler doing his new trick on video.

Goodbye to the.....

Big toothless grin. Its so sad but my boy cut his first tooth last Friday. So far he has taken teething really well. He goes through some fussy periods but he always seems to bring the cute little smile back.

The Beach

We got some really cute pictures of Tyler on the beach for the first time. He is wearing a really cute outfit from Lou (a lady that works with Grandma Henderson). Tyler liked being out on the beach. He even got his little toes wet.

Riding the Alligator

They had a really big alligator at the restaurant where we ate dinner. We decided to get pictures of us with Tyler on the Alligator.

We took Tyler swimming for the first time this past week. He did not like the pool. I don't really blame him it was a little cold. Troy and I still wanted to get him used to the water, so we took him to the hot tub. Don't worry we didn't turn it on. Tyler loved the hot tub. He was smiling and splashing away.

Here is a picture of Tyler crying in the pool.

Here is a picture of Tyler and Mommy in the hot tub. As you can see he was a lot happier.

Here is a picture of Tyler, Mommy and Daddy in the hot tub.

New Family Members

Tyler got to meet a bunch of new family members on his first trip to Florida. Here are some pictures of him with them.

Yucky Baby Food

Tyler had his first taste of store bought baby food on this trip. Needless to say it is definitely not as yummy as what his Mommy makes him. We think that Tyler might be allergic to the store bought stuff also. A Day after he started to eat he broke out in a rash. So I ended up having to make him some peas, carrots and sweet potatoes for the trip.

Up Up and Away

Tyler went on his first plane ride on Saturday. Despite being delayed an hour and a half Tyler did great. He took a nap for the first part of the trip, then ate some oatmeal and apples and played a bit. He managed to make friends with everyone on the plane. Here is picture of the three of us on the plane and a picture of Tyler when he stole Daddy's seat.

I Love TOES!!

Boy do I love my toes. The other day I found out that not only could I play with them but they also go in my mouth. You silly grown ups have no idea what kind of fun you are missing out on.

Penguin Fun

Mommy finally got my toys out that I got for Christmas. As you can see I had fun trying to eat it. Thanks for my toy Grandma Powers.

My Little Womanizer

I already caught my boy in bed with two girls and he's not even six months old yet;) Tyler's daycare had their Easter party on Thursday. They parade all the kids around the building and then do an Easter egg hunt. For the babies they put them all in cribs and walk them around the building.

They also make cute little hats for all the kids. Here is a picture of my Little Easter Bunny.

Since I wasn't able to make it. I want to thank Trish for all the cute pictures of my little man.

We Almost Have A....

Crawler!!! I can't believe it my little baby is almost crawling. Tonight he got up on all fours and started to rock. What am I going to do with this kid, he is growing up way too fast. He was sitting at 5 months and now at 5 1/2 months he is showing signs of starting to crawl soon. I know what we will be doing after we return from our trip to proofing the house.

Avocados are Yucky

We decided to give Tyler his first taste of solids other than cereal on Sunday night. We started with avocados because it is very nutritious and supposed a great first food. Well.... Tyler didn't really agree. Here is a video of Tyler eating the avocado.

New Ride

Tyler got a new lightweight stroller for our trip to Orlando. So far he looks like he is enjoying it.

Cute Pictures

Here are some really cute pictures that I took of Tyler today when we were playing around.

I Love Food

Tyler loves his food, you can't get it in his mouth fast enough. So far he has only had rice cereal and oatmeal but I think he is definitely ready for more. The pediatrician wants me to wait until 6 months to give him other foods but I don't think we are going to make it. So, since he is 5 1/2 months now I think this week we are going to try giving him different kinds of food. I have decided to make my own baby food because it better for him and it will save us money. So far I have made sweet potatoes, carrots, peas, and butternut squash. Hopefully he will like what I have made him.

Here is a video of Tyler eating.

Hail Storm

We had our first hail storm of the season on Monday night. This is the largest hail that I have seen since we moved to North Texas almost 5 years ago. It sounded like someone was throwing baseballs at our windows. Luckily Tyler slept through the whole thing:)

I can sit up!!!

Tyler has almost mastered a new trick.... Sitting. He is starting to get very good at it. He can play with toys while sitting and pick them up off the floor.

For those of you that don't believe me that Tyler is really sitting on his own here is a video of Tyler sitting to prove it.
