Perfect Day For The....

Park. Since we had all the crappy cold weather this weekend, we are having a beautiful week. Today it was high 60's and sunny. We had to go to the park. You had tons of fun running around. One of the funniest things you did was get to the top of the slide, look at me, shake your head and say no. Because you know you are not allowed to go down them if you won't sit down. Which you don't like to do, you prefer head first. Here are some pictures from our little excursion today.

Sleepy Head

Tyler is still getting used to not getting his morning nap. So sometimes when we get in the car around lunch time you will fall asleep. You look so sweet when you are sleeping.

Happy 17 Months

My little man is 17 months old today. Next month he will be a year and a half old. I can't believe how fast this year has flown by so far. This past month was by far my favorite month so far (read #1). Last month he didn't really do much changing but this month has been a whole other story. He really starting to be his own little person. And I just love him to pieces:)

1. I got my first REAL kiss. YAY!!! I have been waiting for this day forever. We were in the bedroom and I was holding you. I said "kisses" you looked at me and planted one right on my lips. You melted my heart right there. You gave them a long time ago but you didn't really understand, now you know and its awesome.

2. You are now taking one nap a day. It took almost a month but we have finally gotten you back on a schedule that works for both of us. You go upstairs for quiet time around 10am and then you are taking your nap around 2pm. You are back to taking a 2 hour nap, which I love. Oh and you are sleeping from about 8pm to 7:30am.

3. You love to read books. Really you just love to turn the pages but I know one day you will actually let me read the story to you.

4. You have turned into quite the cuddle bug. You love to sit on the couch with me and read or eat your afternoon snack.

5. Your words of the month are nana (banana), uhnt uhh (I don't really know how to spell it out but its basically no), and booo (book). You have also started to stay nigh nigh (night night) and mil (milk).

6. You love the game boo. You think its so fun to run up behind us or hide somewhere and then jump out and yell boo. You also like to hide your face in the car seat and say boo. You really like it when we say it back to you.

7. You have learned to go down stairs on your feet. You still haven't tackled the stairs in the house but you can go down the stairs at the play ground.

8. I almost forgot a big one. You pooped in the potty. No pee yet and no more poop since this one time. I have gotten better about sitting you on the potty. We usually do it right before bath time and you will sit there for a few minutes if I entertain you.

We can't wait to see what kind of fun stuff you accomplish in this new month. We love you baby boy!

Saturday Surprise

It was 73 degrees yesterday and tonight it snowed. Go figure only in North Texas is the weather this crazy. So far this year we have had 5 snow storms. We normally get one, maybe two. We only ended up getting about an inch this time.

Luckily, it was pretty nice in the morning so I got to drag Troy to his favorite place, the mall. He was a good sport. He let me walk around and do my shopping. Then we took Tyler to the toy store and got him a new toy. Yes, he needs more. What kid doesn't. Then we went to lunch at 1:30. My boy was amazing today. He didn't fuss or cry once. I can't believe he made it until 1:30 to eat. He normally eats around noon. Then amazingly he stayed awake all the way home and took a two hour nap. He is just the perfect little guy.

Just Like Daddy

Tyler wants to grow up and be just like Daddy, a Computer Geek. He loves my computer. He thinks its so much fun to press all the buttons.

And here are some random photos of Tyler playing today.

One of his new favorite activities is running his train into everything, including the furniture.

Bringing Daddy books to read. His other favorite activity.

So this is what my life is like during Tyler's naps. My poor dogs. They are so tired all the time, now that I am home all day.

Outside Fun

This weekend it was awesome outside. Today we all played in the back yard, while Daddy planted his plants. Tyler loves being outside, I really should be a good Mommy and take him outside more. Here are some pictures from this afternoon. Oh and you should notice Tyler's new haircut. He is so handsome. I just love him to death.

My Bday Present

For my Birthday Troy got me some backgrounds. I have been wanting them for a while and just never wanted to spend the money on them. I got a white and a black background. Here are some photos in front of them today. The background is really wrinkly but whatever I still look awesome:) Tyler wasn't cooperating so we didn't get that many pictures.

Poopy in the Toliet

So we have a super exciting first, Tyler pooped in the toliet for the first time tonight. I know it was completely by accident and he probably won't do it again for a LONG time but it was so exciting. Yes, I get that excited over poop but only when its my son's. I have actually been really bad about putting Tyler on the potty. I am trying to do it before bath time. He is a REALLY long way away from potting training. He is a typical boy and could careless if he has poop in the pants:)

Happy 30th Birthday to Me!!

Today I turn 30 years old. Its really weird to be 30. I still picture myself being so young, like I am in my early 20s. It definitely was not a sad day for me. Everyone was making a big deal out of it and for me it felt just like any other birthday. I think I might think differently if I wasn't where I am in my life, married with a kid. Then it might be a little depressing. I am very blessed to have the life that I have with my family.

Today Troy woke up with Tyler and let me sleep in a bit. Then we went out to the Ft Worth Zoo. We went fairly early because Tyler is transitioning to one nap and we were going to try to make it home before he fell asleep in the car. We had a great time at the Zoo. It was a beautiful day here. Tyler even enjoyed the Zoo a little bit. Luckily he enjoys most anything that gets him out of the house and has lots of things to watch. I can't wait until he is a little older and really enjoys these kind of things. Later that night we went to my favorite Greek restaurant, Cafe Medi, with some friends. I think they knew is was my birthday because the food was extra yummy:)

Here are some pictures from our day at the Zoo.

I don't think they were ready to get up yet.

Playtime

Today I captured a couple of pictures of Tyler enjoying his new playroom. He loves his new room. He wakes up in the morning and goes right in there, to see what kind of toys he can find. Then he goes in the kitchen looking for his breakfast. He wouldn't be my kid if he wasn't begging for food 24/7.

His playroom is almost finished. I am still waiting on the rest of the floor mats to come in. Right now we have a little over half the floor covered. Hopefully this mats will give him a soft place to fall on and protect the floor from all his toys.
