Clothing Sizes

With Tyler's birthday and Christmas coming up, I have been asked by a few people what clothes size Tyler is wearing and what does he need. He needs some winter/cooler weather clothes, mostly PJs, long sleeve t's, short sleeve t-shirts and cotton pants. Here are the sizes that he will probably be wearing this fall/winter:

Onesies- 18-24 months (he is very tall)
Shirts- 12- 18 months or 18-24 months
Pants- 12 months
PJs- 12 months and above

I hope this helps some of you that want to shop for Tyler. He appreciates everything that he gets:)

Greek Festival and More....

Wow today was a really busy day. In the morning Daddy finished cleaning the carpets in the living room. I can't believe how good they look. It almost looks like new carpet. Then we went down to the Greek festival in Dallas. I was highly disappointed. The food wasn't that good and there really wasn't that much to do. I would have much rather went to my favorite Greek restaurant, Cafe Medi. Tyler enjoyed himself though. He loves to watch all the people around him. When we were eating lunch there was another little boy at our table and he was 10 months old. This boy was still on all pureed food. I couldn't believe how advanced Tyler was with his eating. Tyler stopped pretty much all purees at 9 months, except occasionally at daycare. After the Greek festival we went to Babies R Us and got a gate for the bottom of the stairs. We finally have both gates up and don't need the barricades any more. Then we went to Costco and finally ventured home after that. I know we wore Tyler out because he fell asleep on the way home and then took a two hour nap after we were home.

Here is a picture of Tyler chillin at the Greek Festival.

This is the gate that blocks off the front entry way, the office and the dining room. This gate was hard to find. It was so hard to find gates over 60". The entry way is 68" and I wanted to get a gate that would also fit the opening in the dining room, which is 90". I think we are going to eventually turn that room into a play room, since we don't need the dining room.

Here is the gate that blocks off the stairs. Everyone can relax now.

Since you asked...

Some of you have been asking, so here is a video of Tyler walking. He is pretty fussy in the video but he still managed to make it across the living room. It was taken when he got home from daycare and of course he didn't get his afternoon nap in. Well... that and he is still cutting his first molar. Both of those make for a pretty fussy baby.

Do I Need to Say More??

This shirt pretty much sums up my life now a days. I can't believe how much it has changed in two years. This time two years ago, we decided to start trying to have a baby. I was focused on getting my Master's, work and my Husband. This time last year all I could think about was getting his little baby out of me. I was VERY pregnant, around 36 weeks and huge. The count down was on, less than a month and I would finally get to meet my little man. These days all I think about having a happy family and raising my little boy. I can't wait to get off of work, so I can see his cute little face. I still have my dreams and goals that I had before becoming pregnant. I know that I will achieve them one day but they are no longer my priority. I have a five year plan and it does include finishing up my Master's and working towards my CPA but for now I am happy spending all my free time with my husband and my little man.

Mommy Time

This evening Daddy had to go to dinner after work, so I got to spend some time with Mommy. She picked me up from school and took me to the park. I LOVE the park. We walked around for a bit, so Mommy could get some exercise and then she let me play on the play ground. I can't wait until I'm a big kid and I can go down the big boy slides. Here are some pictures that Mommy took of me while I was swinging and climbing up the slides the wrong way.

We Have A Walker!!

And apparently we have for a while now. I posted on my message board today about when people consider their little ones a "walker". Well they all said when they are consistently taking 3-4 steps. I thought being a "walker" meant being able to walk along side of you for a few minutes. Since I like their definition better I am going to go with it. So Tyler has been walking for about 2 weeks now. WOOHOO!! Now he will take 7-8 steps all the time, today he even took 12. He will walk everywhere but at daycare. For some reason Tyler won't practice his new skill there. They were amazed when we showed them what Tyler could do. Needless to say he was busted and they will be working with him for now on.

Happy 11 Month Birthday Tyler!!

Wow you are 11 months old today. Mommy is in denial that you are almost a toddler. I can not believe that in a month I will have a 1 year old and and toddler:) I swear I have the best baby ever. You are such a delight. Everyone that has been lucky enough to take care of you has fallen in love with you. I get told all the time how you are the favorite in your daycare class. You have grown into such a beautiful little boy. Mommy and Daddy LOVE to watch you grow and learn new things. You get so proud of yourself when you have learned a new trick or when you know you are about to do something that you are not supposed too. Every day we fall more and more in love with you. Some of the things that you have started to do this past month are:

1. You are completely off of purees. You only eat big boy food now. You are the best eater. However I wish you would learn when enough is enough. I think I could feed you all day and you would never think you are full:)

2. You have said your first word, Ball. In the past week you have learned a second word, byebye and you wave at the same time. Its so cute. You have yet to do it on command though, you just do it when you feel like it.

3. You are regularly taking 6-7 steps. You are well on your way towards walking. Mommy and Daddy are so excited for you to start walking. We work on this new skill every night.

4. You love to pull all of your food out your cabinet and then put it back in and then pull it out again. If only I could get you to leave it in the cabinets. That would be awesome, you would then be able to clean up after yourself.

5. You cut his first molar toay. This makes 7 teeth for him so far. I should have know he was cutting a tooth. He has been in a pretty funky mood all weekend.

We love you so much and can't wait too see what kind of little boy you turn into:)

Date Night

We had one busy Saturday. I woke up this morning and took Tyler running. It was so cute this is the first time he stayed awake from start to finish. When I was almost done I looked down at him and he had his feet up on the cup holder. It was so cute, he was just chillin. After that we cleaned up the house, went to lunch and went to Best Buy. Troy has been wanting to get the carpets cleaned for a long time but I wanted to just buy a steam cleaner. So Troy did his research and we got one from Best Buy. We only did a small area of the living room but so far I am satisfied with the purchase. It looks so much better. Hopefully this will do the trick until I am able to convince my Grandpa to help us put down wood floors;)

Later that evening Troy and I had Date Night!! We were going out to celebrate our 3 year anniversary. We went to JR's. Its a really nice steakhouse in our area. They have the yummiest mac n cheese and augratin potatoes. Then we went bowling. Troy beat me in 2 out of the 3 games. Neither of us bowled really good.

Since we had date night this meant that Tyler had is FIRST babysitter. Miss Chelsea came over to watch him. She used to be one of Tyler's teachers at his daycare when he was in the infant room. The fact that she already knew him and I know she is good with kids made leaving him sooo much easier. I wasn't even nervous but it was a little weird being out in public without him. She said that Tyler did great and he went to sleep easily. This made me so happy. He was a little fussy during the day so I was a little worried about this.

Busted Again!!

Lately Tyler has been getting into everything. It is so much fun to watch. When he discovers new things he is so proud of himself. When he is about to get into something that he knows he isn't supposed to get into, he looks at us and grins and then does it anyways. This so cute now but I'm sure this behavior will drive me crazy in the future.

The Many Faces of Tyler

Tyler makes so many funny faces and I was able to capture a couple of them the other day. Some of these are out of focus a little but they are still cute.

I love this photo. It is one of my favorites so far.

Look What the Rain Brought In

So in the past 8 days we have had 7 days of rain. I hate to complain about the rain but I would really love some sunshine for a couple of days. This morning I woke up to this in the kitchen.

It's a little baby snake. I don't now what kind and I don't really care. All that matters is that it is a snake and it has a Mommy and a Daddy, so that means that there are bigger snakes somewhere around my yard. YUCK!! I hate snakes and that thought freaks me a out a little bit.

It's Official

It's official... I am now a Mommy. Tyler threw up ALL over me yesterday.

I got a call from daycare while I was at work saying the Tyler was vomiting and not eating. This is NOT normal for Tyler. He never ever spits up, he has never thrown up, and you all know about his love of food. So I left work early and picked him up. We got home and he was acting a little under the weather but I nothing too abnormal. I gave him his afternoon bottle and he went down for a nap. When he woke up he was laying all over me, not playing, and just being very clingy. About 3o minutes after he woke up I was covered in vomit. And not just a little. I didn't even now his tummy could hold this much stuff. Both Tyler and I got in the bathtub. He is now drying heaving mostly, only a little bit of throw up. My poor baby was sooo sick. The rest of the night he just laid on top of me. About 7:30 we did manage to get some cheerios and a little juice in his belly. 30 minutes later that was still in his belly, so I decided to nurse him and put him down for the night. Amazingly he didn't wake up once, the food stayed in his belly and he slept until 7:30. I stayed home from work today just to make sure he was okay and to let him get all the rest he needed to recuperate. He seems to be back to his normal self. He still isn't eating what he used to but that is kind of to be expected. When we get sick it usually takes a couple days for our appetites to come back.

This picture was taken before he went down for his nap.

These pictures were taken after he threw up. I hated that he was so sick but I did LOVE how all he wanted to do was lay on me. It's been along time since he has wanted to do that.

Three Years Ago....

Three years ago Troy and I started our lives together. September 16, 2006 was one of the happiest days of our lives (well at least mine). We got married in a beautiful ceremony on the beach and celebrated with our close friends and family.

Troy and I met in Orlando, FL at the end of January 2003. We had our first date on Feb 1, we went to Olive Garden and then met some friends in Downtown Orlando. We got our first dog, Sammy, July 4th weekend 2003 and moved in together a month and a half later. After only 7 months of dating. In April of 2004, Troy took a job in Ft Worth, TX and moved out here. I moved out in July of 2004. After we moved out here and got settled into a house we got Bailey, my other furbaby. Troy proposed on the day after Christmas (he wasn't allowed to do it on a holiday) at the Gaylord Texan. We were married nine months later. On Valentine's Day of 2008 out we found out we were expecting our first child. Tyler Jackson was born on October 20, 2008. On his Daddy's birthday. Daddy got the best (most expensive) gift I could ever give him. Here were are today, with an almost one year old.

Times have really changed for the both of us. We have had some good and some bad times but in the end it is all worth it. We have become such a beautiful family and I can't wait to see what else the future has in store for us.

Bruiser

Tyler has earned a new nickname... Bruiser. It's official he has gotten his first black eye. Daddy was giving him a bath and he decided to stand up, slipped and fell hitting the edge of the tub with his eye. My poor baby. I felt so bad for him. He cried the worst cry ever. I know it is the first of MANY injuries but it is still hard when your baby hurts themselves.

These pictures where taken right after the incident. It actually looked worse the next day.

Are You Ready for...

Some Football. The NFL started today and Daddy couldn't be more excited. Daddy likes to watch football at one of the local sports bars and since he couldn't find anyone to go with him, Tyler and I joined him for lunch. Afterwards, Tyler and I went to the mall and then we did some of my coupon shopping. I did pretty good today. Here is some of what I got: 5 Healthy Choice frozen dinners for $4 (I would have gotten them for free if I read the deal right before I left the house), 2 Dial hand soaps for free, 4 Hefty ziploc bags for $.50 each, Pampers Cruisers for $6, Pull Ups for $5, and 4 cans of ravioli for $.75 each. I got some other stuff but I can't remember it right now.

Here are some pictures of Tyler watching football.

This is Tyler acting goofy!

Hide n Seek

Tyler has a new game, Hide n Seek. He's so funny. He gets himself inside these places and then he looks at me and grins. I love how he is just so proud of himself sometimes. Yes, he got in these places all by himself.

Here is Tyler getting inside the TV Cabinet.

He looks like a little boy in this picture. My baby is growing up too fast:(

Here is Tyler inside one of the kitchen cabinets.

Just Between Friends

I went to a Just Between Friends event on Thursday. It's a huge consignment sale, where a bunch of people are trying to sell their old baby stuff. I wish I would have known about this when I was pregnant, I could have gotten all the bouncers, swings and things like that for super cheap. And the stuff is practically new because we all know that babies don't really use most of these items for too long. I got Tyler some "new" clothes for the winter. I found him a couple pairs of jeans, sweatshirt, khaki cargo pants (just like Daddy's), jean overalls, some long sleeve shirts and a sweater. I also got Tyler a couple of new toys. One of them that this push toy to help him learn to walk. He loves this thing and knew how to use it right away. The only thing he doesn't like is that he hasn't figured out how to turn it yet. He usually runs into stuff, gets frustrated and then we have to come move it so he can walk straight again.

Tyler also took 6 steps today. We are so excited for him. I can't wait for him to start walking.

My Mountain Climber

We got home from Destin today. Tyler did okay on the flight home. We ended up getting the whole back row of the plane to ourselves. It was only 3 seats. Tyler had to much energy when we first got on. It was really hard to get him to sit still. After about a half an hour of this, I forced him into a nap. I knew he was tired, he just didn't want to sleep. After a couple minutes of crying he was out for the rest of the flight and woke up right before landing.

Once we got home we discover Tyler's new trick. I put him down for a second and was talking to Troy, I look over to find him and he is halfway up the second part of the stairs. He then crawled all the way to the top. When he got there he turned around and smiled at me. He was so proud of himself.

I couldn't get the video to upload here, I think it's too large. To view it click here.
